Sunday Scones

I made these on Sunday while Peter took Bela and Elliot out for a walk.  They were really easy, fast, and DELICIOUS!  I made 12.  We ate four for breakfast, I took four to Teteria, and the last four I took to a friend’s house for tea with Elliot while Peter was working (on a Sunday!).

I thought they were sooo good.  But they didn’t sell in the cafe.  The don’t look like the crappy scones people are used to here in Denmark so I guess people were scared to try them.  Danes are weird about new stuff.  I think I will make them again.  If they don’t sell…I’ll just have to eat them all myself!

Sunday Drop Scones

    Heat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Grease a cookie sheet.

    Mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.

    Cut in butter until fine crumbs; food processor is best.
  5. 5
    Place in large bowl; add cranberries and raisins.
  6. 6
    Beat milk and egg with a fork.
  7. 7
    Add milk and egg mixture to flour mixture; stir with fork until moistened.

    Drop by 12 heaping spoonfuls, 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.

    Sprinkle with the 1 Tablespoon sugar.

    Bake 13 minutes or until golden.

    Cool on rack.
